The Mighty Wurlitzer
A 1928 theatre organ: three keyboards, ten ranks of pipes, plus xylophone, bass drum, snare, tambourine, castanets, orchestra bells, chimes, glockenspiel and the honk of a Tin Lizzie. The only 1928 Wurlitzer still standing in the theatre it was built for.
The grand chandelier
Two thousand pounds, ten feet across, five hundred bulbs. It came down in 1964, spent years scattered, and has been back where it belongs since 2004.
The Lady of the Lamp
At the foot of the grand staircase with her candelabra held high, where the ushers used to pat her for luck on their way down to inspection.
The house itself
Spanish Colonial Mission on the outside, the court of Louis XV on the inside, 36,000 square feet of it, on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983.
